The SORC TVRadio Network

Senior Nation is a live, one hour weekly TV/Radio show airing every Wednesday evening at 7:00 PM EDT. The show addresses Aging in America as a dynamic and ever-changing period of life. The demographic shift is more rapid than at any other time in our history, affecting not only older adults but everyone caught in the middle. Senior Nation™ is your guide to navigating this new landscape, offering real talk on how to approach aging intentionally, a focus on healthful longevity, living a vibrant and purposeful life at every age, quality care, quality of life, the meaning of retirement and the financial strains of the 4 generation family, and what the host calls becoming a "WellAger" ™. Each week there is a conversation with a fascinating guest who is an expert in the chosen topic for that week.
Here's what's driving the conversation: by 2030, Americans 65 and older will outnumber those under 18 for the first time in our history. The 85-and-older cohort, the oldest among us, is the fastest-growing age group in the country. And older adults are now the fastest-growing segment of the workforce, rewriting the rules of retirement along the way.
But this isn't only a baby boomer story. Gen Xers, born between 1965 and 1980, now range in age from 46 to 61, squarely within the sandwich generation's 40-to-59 cohort, and are approaching the retirement question. Millennials, born 1981 to 1996, now range from 30 to 45, and many are also caring for older parents, a result of delayed marriage and later childbearing that has compressed the gap between generations. Each cohort approaches aging, caregiving, and retirement differently,
shaped by distinct financial pressures, family structures, and expectations, and Senior Nation™ explores how those differences play out across the generations.
As technology, healthcare, and family life evolve alongside these trends, so does what it means to grow older with dignity and purpose. The show explores healthful longevity, successful aging strategies, and the everyday realities facing older adults and the families who support them, from navigating telehealth and care technology to preserving meaningful connection across generations.
