Heidi Tann: Touching and Inspiring. This month, we are honored to spotlight an extraordinary woman whose artistry transcends sound and touches the soul. Meet Heidi Tann, a Filipina American singer and songwriter whose musical journey continues to uplift and inspire. Through her timeless voice and unwavering spirit, Heidi redefines what it means to live a life of purpose and passion.
Heidi’s voice flows with elegance and authenticity, effortlessly navigating through genres including soul, R&B, jazz, pop, Broadway, bossa nova, and standards. To those closest to her, she’s simply “Heidi,” but in the professional world, her full name has become synonymous with emotional artistry and musical excellence.
Her love for music was ignited at a young age, often sneaking into local singing contests and returning home with the top prize. She grew up in a musically rich environment—her aunt played jazz and standards regularly, often singing and playing the piano, while her uncle was a well-known pianist in the Philippines. These early influences, along with artists like Sergio Mendes, Anita Baker, Sarah Vaughan, Ella Fitzgerald, Patti Austin, Barbra Streisand, and Natalie Cole, deeply shaped her musical taste.
In the late 1990s, Heidi entered the Philippine entertainment scene, performing on nationally acclaimed television programs such as Eat Bulaga, Ryan Ryan Musikahan, and Nightcap.
As the years have passed, Heidi’s priorities have evolved, but some core values remain love for family, artistic integrity, and physical and emotional well-being. Today, she also embraces financial stability, empathy, and a strong sense of social responsibility.
Her mission, both personally and professionally, is clear: to encourage others—especially women—to believe in the power of their dreams. That mission materialized with the release of her album “Here Is Where We Meet,” a long-envisioned goal now realized produced by Grammy and Emmy nominated, Rex Salas.
Reflecting on her journey, Heidi shares: “Life wasn’t always smooth sailing. As a single mother, singing gave me strength and purpose. I performed up to six nights a week to provide for my daughter and to show her the importance of hard work. I also owned a salon in Manila and ventured into business—each challenge helped shape my resilience.”
Her unwavering faith has been her anchor through life’s storms. “Faith gave me the optimism I needed to face challenges,” she says. “And the love and support of my family and friends carried me through.”
Among Heidi’s most treasured accomplishments are her daughter’s academic success and the release of her debut album. She’s also been fortunate to travel extensively across Southeast Asia, embracing diverse cultures and even beginning to learn Nippongo. She was awarded “Best New Jazz Artist” last September 2024 at TOP Awards in Los Angeles, CA. Her song that she wrote with Mike Harrison “Good Vibez” won an award for “Best in Soul “competing with 43 countries at the Fairplay Country Music Awards in Netherland. Her cover of "Baby Come Back" reached the Top 10 on 20 global charts and “ Island Summer” teaming up with the legendary Kinsman Dazz Band is still hitting the indie charts to this date.
To stay balanced, Heidi finds joy in life’s simple pleasures—a relaxing bath, a favorite book, a feel-good comedy, or coffee with close friends. She also enjoys cooking Filipino dishes, gardening, and staying active through Zumba and cycling.
In 2015, Heidi participated in the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer, completing an incredible 39 miles. The experience, though physically demanding, was profoundly fulfilling. “The energy, the community, the cause—it all kept me going. That cupcake at the finish line? The sweetest reward ever.”
Despite life’s challenges, Heidi leads with gratitude. She believes happiness is as much a mindset as a reality and encourages others to choose self-love over people-pleasing. Her greatest role model is her mother—a symbol of strength, resilience, and unconditional love.
Today, Heidi prioritizes health, love, and peace of mind. Faith continues to guide her journey, giving her strength and direction. Looking to the future, she envisions sharing her original music with a global audience, traveling, growing her career, and embracing new skills. Her dreams remain grounded: to stay close to family, to keep creating, and to leave behind a legacy built on kindness and authenticity.
Heidi Tann hopes to be remembered not just for her music, but for the values she’s lived by—kindness, gratitude, humility, and the courage to follow her passion. “I want to thank my family, friends, and fans for their unconditional support—for inspiring me to be the best version of myself. Thank you for giving me the strength to share my music and my heart with the world.”
