Alex Harris was born in Manchester, Georgia (population 2500) one of eight children born to Pentecostal Pastor and schoolteacher Reverend James Harris and Dr. Carolyn Harris, a dedicated educator. The focus of the family was faith and education with little contact with the secular world. Alex and his siblings developed a strong interest in music.
